"ideal" doesnt exist

early in the morning, we had a class with mr.nixon..the subject is called Engineering knowledge motor.

he was continuing his lecture from the previous class. it was about some cycles. To be specific, the Otto cycle, diesel cycle and dual cycle.

Then he told us that the dual cycle is the most ideal cycle. Maximize the heat gained and minimize the heat rejection.

Then he came to a question. What does the word "ideal' mean? everyone looked down hoping they wouldnt be picked to answer.

Fortunantely ,he answered himself. He said " IDEAL doesnt exist . Its just a theoretical understanding that will never be achieved. We dont have it in our practical world"

Another question arised. He sais to the ladies, "Can you find your ideal husband in the future?"
Again, he answered himself with a NO. The ladies were a bit slow to answer.heh. He said, "didnt i told you earlier that IDEAL doesnt exist int this practical world"

I didnt learn much about the cycles. But how he relate an engineering understanding to the principle of life made me thinking. He ended the lecture saying, "remember, an ideal soulmate doesnt exist..you will never get a partner with a maximum performance and minimum losses"
No wonder he's still a bachelor.is he?
